COTTON

A series of bundles of brushed cotton twine are placed along a flaw line in the casting. The cotton is arranged in a flowing motion, meant to reflect the undulating surface of the casting. The natural cotton is meant to accentuate devitrification in the glass, both being materials transformed but only minimally.
