Onomatopoeia in Translation: A Case Study of Sound Visualization in Katsuhiro Otomo’s AKIRA manga was a research project completed in the summer of 2021 that studied the translation and visualization of sound in the AKIRA manga. The findings were collected in a paper accompanied by prints and illustrations presented as a zine. A copy is held in the Dylan Williams Collection at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum in Columbus, Ohio.
